Bella Hardy - Night Visiting
Bella Hardy's first solo album Night Visiting was recorded shortly after Quayside Studios opened in the summer of 2007. After the release Bella was nominated for 'The Horizon Award' and 'Best Original Song' (for the song 'Three Black Feathers' from the album) at the 2008 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
Alistair Anderson - Islands
Over many decades Alistair Anderson has released and been featured on countless quality records. He has collaborated with artists such as Kate Bush, Richard Thompson and literally hundreds more. 'Islands' is his first new album for many years and was mostly recorded and then mixed and mastered at Quayside Studios between summer, 2007 and spring 2008 and then subsequently launched at Alistair's 60th birthday gig in Hall One of 'The Sage Gateshead'.
Bodega - Under the Counter
Under the Counter is Bodega's second album for Scottish record label 'Greentrax'.In 2005, Bodega won the 'BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award' and have since had tours all over the UK and abroad including several tours in the USA. The album was recorded and mixed at Quayside Studios and was produced by Andrew Gifford of top Shetland band 'Fiddlers' Bid'.
Will Martin - A New World
New-Zealander Will Martin's debut CD 'A New World was mostly recorded at the world famous 'Air Studios' in London by award winning engineer Jon Bailey. But for the live band recording on the track 'Over the Hills', Grammy Award winning producer Simon Franglen came to Quayside Studios where our engineer Julien Batten recorded violin, piano accordion, guitar and bohrán. Shortly after release in New-Zealand the album went platinum and when released in the UK it went straight to number one in the classical charts.
Kathryn Tickell & Peter Tickell - What We Do
'What We Do' is the first release from brother and sister Kathryn and Peter Tickell exclusively as a duo. Individually, they both have an impressive resume with Kathryn having recorded and performed with artists such as Sting, Beth Nielsen-Chapman and Alan Parsons and Peter having worked with Billy Mitchell (ex-Lindisfarn, Jack the Lad etc.) and Peatbog Faeries to name a few.
Maybe Myrtle Tyrtle - Bushwacka
Newcastle favourites Maybe Myrtle Tyrtle play a great mix of music which is hard to catogorise but could possibly be described as hillbilly rock! Having recorded elsewhere the band came to Quayside studios to mix ten of the tracks from this, their first full length album. The guys have been back in the studio recently and have started work on a new album which will be recorded and mixed at Quayside studios and so far it's sounding great so watch out for it!
